Abstract | Research on electrical sources has advanced rapidly over the past decade, with both conventional and non-conventional energy sources attracting significant attention from researchers. Regardless of the source type, faults will always occur within the system. As the number of transmission lines continues to rise, the likelihood of faults in the system also increases. To address transmission line faults, fault detection must be the first step. This paper reviews various fault detection methods for a three-phase system. Additionally, it provides a detailed discussion on the fault detection technique based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The paper also proposes an enhancement to the existing fault detection methods. |
