Abstract | With the growing population in India, the demand for fruits and vegetables has significantly increased. Along with this rise in demand, various issues related to the supply chain in the fruits and vegetables (F&V) sector have emerged. This descriptive study focuses on the challenges faced in the F&V sector in India, primarily concerning supply chain management. This quantitative study is divided into three main sections: (i) An overview of the difficulties the Indian F&V supply chain is currently facing. (ii) Disruptions in the supply chain of India’s organized retail sector for fruits and vegetables. (iii) The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the supply chain of the organized retail segment. The study also provides insights into the current state of the F&V sector concerning its supply chain. |
