Abstract | The widespread use of social networking in India has seen a significant increase among the younger generation. In today's world, it's hard to imagine life without platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or Twitter. The social networking culture of the new age has been widely accepted and met with an enthusiastic response. Reports indicate cultural shifts in the way traditional interactions and social communications take place in India. Research on the impact and usage of social media in India has mostly been limited to specific surveys and theories. The objective of this study is to explore the extent of the impact of social networking on Indian youth. The focus on youth as the target audience is based on the belief that the future direction of a country and its culture is shaped by its younger generation. This paper aims to analyze the patterns of social networking use and its impact, particularly in determining social networking addiction. |
