Assessing the Quality of Life of Mining Laborers: Challenges and Perspectives

Author(s) Mr. LINGARAJA M, Dr. SUMA K G
Country India
Abstract Mining labourers contribute greatly to the economic development of mineral districts but lead a poor quality of life because of hazardous working conditions, low remuneration, and limited access to social well-being. The socio-economic and health problems of mining laborers are analyzed in this article on the basis of empirical data and statistical data relating to occupational risks, labor rights, and health risks. The research concludes that strong labor policies, implementation of safety measures, and improving community welfare programs are crucial to prevent these problems. Governments, corporate firms, and civil society organizations must join hands to facilitate sustainable mining activities in the context of labor rights and human dignity.
