Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Labour Regulation: Challenges for Indian Labour Jurisprudence
| Author(s) | Ms. SHANIKA ROY |

| Abstract | This paper explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming India’s labour landscape, challenging traditional legal notions of employment and worker protection. It critically analyzes the 2020 Labour Codes, constitutional principles, and global frameworks like the EU AI Act to highlight the regulatory gaps in addressing algorithmic management and digital work. The study concludes that India must adopt a model of digital constitutionalism—ensuring transparency, accountability, and social security for AI-affected workers—to balance technological innovation with human dignity and labour justice. |
