| Abstract | A lake is a geographical feature, a volume of water on Earth's surface that is restricted to a basin's bottom and flows gently. It is a sizable body of fresh or salt water that has land all around it. Mysore is the second largest city in the state of karnataka in India. It is one of the most attractive tourism place. It is well known for its world famous palace, art galleries, gardens, temples, churches, mosques, mansions and museums. Mysore is also known for its rich culture and heritage. Mysore is located in a very unique environment. At present, lakes are under threat as they are victims of population pressure and rapid urbanization. The main aim of the paper is to Understanding the status and effects of lost and encroached lake. |
