Abstract Indian women have traditionally fulfilled multifaceted roles within their families and communities, contributing across economic, social, and cultural dimensions. Particularly, tribal women are often deeply involved in family and community economic activities, playing a vital role in sustaining and enriching tribal life. However, limited family support frequently impedes their potential to advance further. This study explores the lives of the tribal women in Birmal, Nileswar, Chakarkend, and Dhanger panchayats located in the Bargarh District, Odisha. By focusing on the Tribal women, the research aims to analyze their contributions to household responsibilities, active engagement in economic activities, and empowerment within the broader context of tribal society. Additionally, the study examines the socioeconomic challenges faced by these women, providing insight into the factors that influence their economic and social status. Data collection includes a combination of primary sources, such as surveys, interviews, and observations, and secondary sources, including books, journals, and magazines. The sample comprises 100 women between the ages of 25 and 45, offering a focused view of this demographic's specific experiences and aspirations. The research finds that the women are courageous and determined as they have encountered numerous challenges in their different epochs of family life; nevertheless, they efficiently handle the situation, and major financial support to their family comes from them.
