| Abstract | This study was conducted to confirm observations regarding the role of primary and secondary research in B2B lead identification and generation, supported by practical exposure gained during an internship. The objective was to examine how systematic data collection, validation, and analysis influence the process of identifying, qualifying, and engaging potential business clients. A descriptive research design was adopted, and a short, structured survey was administered to students and working professionals to assess their awareness, perception, and preference towards research-based lead generation methods. Secondary data sources were used to identify market size, trends, and potential opportunities, while primary insights helped evaluate the relevance, intent, and qualification level of prospective leads. The findings indicate that secondary research effectively supports market scanning and opportunity mapping, whereas primary research provides credibility, accuracy, and contextual depth for lead qualification. These insights were further validated through industry interactions and exposure at Bharat Bijlee Ltd. (Drives and Automation Division). The study concludes that integrating both research approaches enhances B2B marketing effectiveness, reduces lead-level uncertainty, and strengthens data-driven decision-making for sustainable business development. |
