Swarm Intelligence-Based Routing for UAV Networks

| Abstract | This paper presents a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based routing framework for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks. We formulate the routing problem as a multi-objective optimization that minimizes end-to-end delay, maximizes link reliability, and conserves UAV energy. A PSO algorithm is adapted to find near-optimal routes in dynamic UAV topologies. We implement a Python-based simulation to evaluate performance under varying node densities and mobility patterns. Results show that PSO-based routing outperforms baseline greedy and shortest-path methods in terms of packet delivery ratio (PDR) and average energy consumption for a range of scenarios. |
