Global Digital Humanities and Cultural Exchange: Rethinking Literature in a Connected Age

Author(s) Dr. Rupali Chaturvedi, Dr. parul Saxena
Country India
Abstract The advent of digital technologies has profoundly transformed the study of literature and cultural heritage, giving rise to the field of Digital Humanities (DH). Within this evolving landscape, Global Digital Humanities emphasises cross-cultural collaboration, multilingual scholarship, and the preservation of marginalised literary traditions. This paper explores how digital tools facilitate literary exchange, expand access to texts, and enable the preservation of endangered languages. Through case studies of AI-assisted translation, digital archives, and collaborative platforms, the study demonstrates the potential of DH to democratise literary access, foster intercultural dialogue, and challenge traditional notions of authorship and readership. The paper also critically examines methodological, ethical, and technological challenges, proposing future directions for research and practice in global digital literary studies.
