| Abstract | The process of self identity transformation among young adults in romantic relationship was explored in this qualitative research. In this study focused on how young adult perceive themselves, before and after entering into their romantic relationship. semi structured interview were contacted to the participants and anlaysis of the result were subjected to thematic analysis. There are five themes were identified through this research they are self identity as related to growth, redefining values and beleifs thorugh connection, gender roles an societial expression, family impact on relationship identity, relationship as a change agent for self- actualization and interdependence. The result of this research shows that romantic relationship are important settings for personal development, emotional maturity and value re-evaluation which lead to enhance interpersonal awareness and self-concept. |
