| Abstract | Ayurveda emphasizes the foundational role of six essential factors, known as Shad Garbhakara Bhavas, in the successful conception and development of a fetus. These sixMatruja, Pitruja, Atmaja, Rasaja, Satmyaja, and Sattvajarepresent physical, psychological, nutritional, and spiritual contributions to embryogenesis. This paper explores the profound relevance of these classical factors in the light of modern genetics and developmental biology. Each Bhava finds an equivalent in the domain of contemporary science, including DNA inheritance, epigenetics, maternal-fetal nutrition, and behavioral development. The increasing prevalence of congenital anomalies and genetic disorders underscores the urgent need for an integrative approach. Through a comparative analysis, this article presents the Ayurvedic wisdom of Shadbhavas as a holistic model that parallels and enriches modern understanding of hereditary and congenital conditions. |
