Abstract Micronutrients such as Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and Iron play a crucial role in neurocognitive development, neurotransmitter synthesis, myelination, oxygen transport and mood regulation. Deficiencies of these nutrients are highly prevalent among Indian adolescents and young adults, including medical students, due to dietary habits, limited sun exposure, stress and lifestyle factors.
Medical entrance examinations like NEET assess sustained cognitive ability, concentration, memory and stress tolerance, reflects ongoing learning capacity and academic efficiency. Despite their importance, limited Indian data exist correlating objective biochemical micronutrient status with objective academic performance indicators among medical students.
Understanding this relationship may help in
 early identification of at-risk students,
 formulation of preventive nutritional strategies, and
 Improvement of academic and mental well-being.
