Teaching Competency among B.Ed. Trainees of Nalbari District of Assam

| Abstract | In the system of education, it is the teacher whose performance and skilful teaching is the most important factor for the development of the school and the effective fulfilment of learning objectives. TEIs has a role to play in this regard and proper training regarding competency of trainee teachers is mandatory. This study intents to bring out the teaching competency of B.Ed. trainee teachers of the district of Nalbari with regard to gender and academic qualification. The study has been conducted on a sample of 146 trainee teachers of B.Ed. colleges of Nalbari with the help of a teaching competency scale developed by the investigator with the help of experts. The statistical techniques used were mean, SD and t test. The findings from the study indicate that there has been no significant difference between male and female trainees regarding teaching competency while differences existed between the graduate and post graduate teacher trainees with post graduate trainees having higher teaching competencies than graduate trainees under the Nalbari District. |
