Abstract The Indian banking sector has witnessed an unprecedented transformation over the past decade, driven by rapid digitalization that has reshaped the way financial services are delivered, consumed, and regulated. This research paper examines the multifaceted impact of digitalization in India's banking sector and its consequential role in building economic resilience. Drawing on secondary data, policy documents, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reports, and empirical studies, the paper analyses key digital initiatives including the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Jan Dhan Yojana, digital lending platforms, FinTech collaborations, and the India Stack architecture. The study further evaluates how these digital interventions have contributed to financial inclusion, enhanced credit access, improved monetary policy transmission, reduced systemic risks, and strengthened the banking system's capacity to absorb economic shocks. The paper also identifies persistent challenges such as cyber security threats, digital literacy gaps, rural infrastructure deficiencies, and data privacy concerns. The findings suggest that while digitalization has significantly bolstered the resilience of India's economy, a coordinated policy framework integrating regulatory oversight, inclusive digital infrastructure, and capacity building is essential to sustain and deepen these gains.
