Lifelong Learning, Ethical Concerns, and Social Justice in Mayurbhanj District amongst Tribal Adolescent Girls

Lifelong learning is one of the principles of inclusive and sustainable development. Still, however, one can find a discrepancy of access to the ongoing learning opportunities, particularly among tribal adolescent girls who live in marginalised regions. The paper addresses the social justice issues and ethical concerns of the lifelong learning of tribal adolescent girls in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha state. Disadvantages to the continuation of education and empowerment are structural inequalities, gender discrimination, socio-cultural barriers, poverty, and insufficient institutional support. According to the paper, lifelong learning cannot be understood as an attempt to provide access to formal education, but as a just input to social, cultural, and economic development. It concludes with a policy recommendation to make tribal girls empowering and ethical in education. The design of the research will be a mixed-method design, which will be accommodated by surveys, interviews, and field observations in order to understand the lived experiences of tribal adolescent girls and the challenges they encounter in the process of seeking access to lifelong learning opportunities. The findings demonstrate that lifelong learning should not be limited to formal learning but should include non-formal, community-based, and culturally relevant learning activities. There must exist moral and socially fair educational practices that enable inclusion, gender equality and empowerment.
