Self-Exploration as the foundation of Self-Development and Self-Evolution

Abstract The journey of human life is entirely dependent upon knowing and understanding oneself. People spend half of their lives understanding their true self and their identities. This paper explores self-exploration as the foundation of self-evaluation and self-development. Self-Exploration is the first step towards self-development and personal growth. Without understanding oneself, one cannot attain personal growth. Exploration means finding something new and investing in it. When we explore ourselves, we find many flaws and areas to work on, such as attitudes, behaviour, mindset, thoughts and skills. Reflecting on ourselves helps to analyse and bring effective improvement.
The word ‘improvement’ carries so much dedication and practice to prove itself; days of practice bring reflective change in us. We must set a standardised goal and make a healthy comparison between previous goals and the present one to see growth and development of the true self. Self-development fosters critical thinking, which is necessary for holistic development. Through self-development and self-exploration, we can build a better, more responsible person. Evaluation may be the last term, yet it is the most important and necessary for a person's overall development. This process gradually leads not only to external but also to internal growth and transformation of the human being.
