Abstract	This review will examine the role of energy and its consumption in various subsystems of a satellite, such as communication links, on-board payloads, the framework of satellites, etc., and analyse strategies like power control and the use of renewable energy for designing energy-eﬃcient systems of satellites, keeping in mind the advancements in technology and software, with case studies that show successful implementation of such strategies.
