| Abstract | The present research brings out the background, significance, need, and design of work–life balance and its impact on the well-being of teachers in Melvisharam. Based on an extensive review of related literature, the study identifies and examines concepts and findings relevant to work–life balance, teacher well-being, and coping strategies adopted in the teaching profession. The current scenario of the education sector is conceptualized through a framework highlighting the interaction between personal and professional roles of teachers. The work–life balance of teachers is analysed using primary data collected from 100 respondents through a structured questionnaire, covering dimensions related to professional responsibilities, personal life demands, coping strategies, and well-being. The behavioural responses of teachers are examined in the contexts of work demands, personal commitments, and role management. The collected data were analysed and the results were tested and verified using appropriate hypothesis-testing tools. The study concludes by offering suitable suggestions to enhance teachers’ work–life balance through improved institutional support, flexible work arrangements, and wellness-oriented initiatives. These measures are expected to promote teachers’ well-being and improve their effectiveness in the teaching profession. |
