Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) Services and Consumer Financial Behaviour: Examining Their Impact on Spending Patterns and Financial Decision-Making

Abstract Digital financial services have deeply altered the spending habits of consumers, through one of the most shared another payment methods, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL). BNPL amenities deliver enlarged opportuneness, flexibility and availability to consumers by permitting them to acquire products instantly and pay over a period of time. This study explores how BNPL impacts consumer economic conduct, budgeting conducts, impulse acquiring actions, and economic choice creation. It also inspects the behaviour and emotional factors that might influence the acceptance of BNPL, such as observations of affordability, and credit management approaches.
The outcomes propose that although BNPL offers superior acquiring power and simplifies easier expense, exaggeration of BNPL can lead to improved flexible outlay, less budgeting controller and greater financial stress. Overall, the study underlines the necessity for accountable use and financial education for BNPL services to help consumers' financial health. This study aids fill the slits in the digital finance and consumer policymaking literature by explaining how another payment methods associate with consumer financial behaviour. The outcomes can aid inform policy creators, financial institutions and fintech providers in designing rules to inspire responsible loans and sustainable consumption and financial stability for consumers.
