Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic represents one of the most significant global crises of the twenty-first century, affecting health systems, economies, social institutions, and human relationships worldwide. Beyond its immediate health consequences, the pandemic accelerated social change and exposed existing social inequalities while simultaneously fostering new forms of community resilience and collective action. Lockdowns, social distancing measures, economic disruptions, and widespread uncertainty transformed patterns of communication, work, education, healthcare delivery, and social interaction. Communities responded through mutual aid networks, digital innovations, community-based support systems, and collaborative efforts aimed at protecting vulnerable populations. From a sociological perspective, the pandemic reshaped social structures, norms, and relationships, creating both challenges and opportunities for social transformation. Social work professionals played a critical role in addressing emerging needs through crisis intervention, psychosocial support, advocacy, and community development initiatives. This paper examines post-COVID-19 social change and community resilience through sociological and social work perspectives. It explores the impact of the pandemic on social relationships, mental health, livelihoods, education, healthcare systems, and vulnerable populations. The study further highlights the importance of resilience-building strategies and social work interventions in promoting recovery and sustainable development. It argues that strengthening community capacity, social solidarity, and inclusive policies is essential for addressing future crises and fostering resilient societies. Ultimately, understanding the lessons of the pandemic can contribute to the development of more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable communities capable of responding effectively to future challenges.
